When is the next restock of the shell pendants?

As a studio, we try to always have some shell pendants available, but they sell out very quickly. We typically offer a new collection of 10 - 15 pendants every quarter in addition to posting one or two here and there. For early access to our collections, please subscribe to our newsletter.

Can I send in my own shells for Dunton Ellerkamp to make a pendant?

Yes, we can accept shells from customers to make shell pendants out of shells with personal significance. Please email hello@duntonellerkamp.com images of your shells to determine if they are suitable — they must be sturdy. It is required that you send between 3 - 5 shells for us to choose from. The production time for a bespoke shell pendant is 4 - 6 weeks.

Price for bespoke shell pendants are as follows:

Sterling silver - $480

Solid 18k yellow gold - $1,600

Chain is an additional fee.

When is the Dunton Ellerkamp showroom open?

The Greenpoint, Brooklyn showroom has the largest selection of available pieces. It is open Friday + Saturday from 1pm - 6pm, see about closures here.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit the showroom?

An appointment for general shopping is not necessary. If you’d like to discuss engagement / wedding jewelry, we do suggest emailing hello@duntonellerkamp.com to set up an appointment. We currently only offer appointments to customers interested in purchasing gold or platinum jewelry. If you’d like to shop our silver selections, please visit during our Friday and Saturday open hours, shop online, or with stockists.

Do you offer custom engagement rings?

We offer a bespoke service for engagement and wedding rings. We offer stone sourcing, design services, and delivery of final product. Each ring is handmade in our Brooklyn studio. A preview of previous engagement projects can be seen here. We offer customization within our design language. We do not make rings based on customer CAD drawings or reference photos of other talented designers work. Do you reset engagement rings?

Yes, we can re-use stones in your possession and incorporate them into a Dunton Ellerkamp design.

Why is the gold jewelry so much more expensive than the silver?

The jewelry industry is famously opaque and we like to educate our customers on what drives pricing.

As a material, gold is worth 100x more than silver as a raw material in the current market. The material cost drives the price. While you may see “gold” jewelry for prices comparable to silver it is because those pieces are gold plated — i.e they are composed of silver or another base metal with a thin layer of gold on the exterior of the piece. In our effort to uphold our high quality standards, we do not plate any of our pieces as the plating fades and degrades over time.
